Emilio is an entrepreneur with experience in sales and software development, having worked with different startups in several countries. After a year-and-a-half at McKinsey, he was responsible for founding Groupon in Brazil and in China, leading sales and editorial teams of more than 500 people, and establishing operations in more than 30 cities in Brazil and 50 cities in China. He then founded 55social, a social media marketing SaaS focusing on the Brazilian market that had the backing of Redpoint Ventures and RPeV. The company attained $5 million annual recurring return, with more than 80 people working both in software and marketing services. In 2015, he founded Gympass in France, helping establish the company in Europe. It works by crowdsourcing diving instructors working around the world, and aims to have a positive impact on climate change research and ocean conservation.
