FOUNDER & OWNER AT CREATIVE CONSULTANCY

Matt comes to Silicon Valley as a Sloan Fellow at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business to start his own venture and to challenge the current applications of technology.

He has been developing a documentary TV series that examines through eight of his own innovations how tech—used in new and better ways—could allow people to connect in deep and meaningful ways that were impossible to previous generations.

He’s doing research at Stanford that argues the current framework by which venture capitalists evaluate business ideas is stifling the creativity of today’s entrepreneurs. Matt also founded a creative consultancy that did work (including World Series and Super Bowl ads) for some of the biggest brands, best agencies, and a unicorn startup. He is a co-founder of the only surf brand designed exclusively for non-surfers (before you laugh, more than half of all surf apparel is bought by them).

In his past career, he helped turn Domino’s into a tech company. He helped JetSmarter find its heart with “Charter Hope”—letting members donate their unused flight time to fly immunocompromised infants home for the first time and helped turn Under Armour into a basketball brand. Matt’s work has appeared in and been written about by the Wall Street Journal, National Geographic, Time, the BBC and others.
