A Message from our Stanford Teaching Team

Lauren B., Principal and Director, Hacking Entrepreneurship Summer 2020

We asked our students to share their experiences. Here’s what they said!

Hacking Entrepreneurship is an excellent course that exposes us, children, to entrepreneurship at such a young age. The course takes advantage of social distancing by allowing students to hear stories from other entrepreneurs around the US. Along with that I constantly felt welcomed within my group and was always offered support throughout the way from the brilliant teachers and TA’s.

This program was so much more than I expected. In just 10 days of classes, I now understand the 6 skills of business that most people don’t even learn until they go to a Graduate School of Business. I have also grown a passion for entrepreneurship. I feel dedicated to the product I created in this class and want to pursue it in any way that I can.

The breadth of mind that I gained from “Hacking Entrepreneurship”–the abstract and smart ways of working with and around a problem, the way in which new ideas are conceived and put into action–completely changed my outlook on how to approach ideas in my own world as well as the business world, all in the company of similarly minded and motivated peers, all of which have diverse and beckoning ideas to share.

It was an honor to hear industry experts’ insights, which have allowed me to better my future roadmap! In addition, I was able to explore the ever-changing world of work at a real-time pace. Post-programme, I have now built a network of like-minded students & entrepreneurs which I hope to collaborate with in the future!

Overall, I had a very inspirational and educational experience taking the two-week Hacking Entrepreneurship class led by Amy Wilkinson. I went into the class knowing barely anything about entrepreneurship, but even in just two weeks, I walked away with a completely new and improved understanding and an interest in business. The instructors were kind and understanding, the friendly competition made it fun, and it was fun to make and meet friends with similar interests!
